When I saw the advertisement I thought to my self that it could be the perfect job for me with me being a mother and all ( this was when my son was 6 months old), so I applied to the job praying that I could convince them in the interview that I could write for English news.
My motive was to become a journalist and not a presenter. Which I thought was selfish of me until I began to work for them. But before beginning to work, I waited three months for them to call me back after the interview, which turned out very positive. Then after I was shortlisted (in march 2011) I was called in for another test ( a screen test) which was very lame. Around somewhere in the April, me and another four people were called on a meeting to confirm that we have been selected for a trail period of one month. The head of the department clearly said after one month of evaluation they will decide on who will be staying and not. At first it sounded all OK until one of the head mentioned that our contracts will be handed over a weeks time and they will call us to sign the contract and to start on the job.
Some were not very happy because most of us signed in just to be news casters and I was the only one who wanted to be away from the camera and working on the content. The contracts never came to life but we had already been called in for the job. We were put on radio for training and given as dhivehi scripts/news stories to be translated. When it came to dhivehi stories, most journalists highlighted facts only to give some structure to their own opinions. One thing I was clear of that most Mnbc journalists could not separate opinions from facts.
One journalist writes, the new head of the MDP parliament group is admired by oppositions and the public. Now, this is what he wrote literally without quoting any opposition or referring to public polls. Because there was no poll on the issue and no opposition who confirmed that its true, which in this case makes the journalist a liar who is lying to the public. My problem was that I didn't translate that very sentence into English news because I thought that what he stated was an opinion. As a journalist when it comes to breaking news u don't add in Ur opinion with facts. My responsibly is to report unbiased true facts. And that is what Mnbc lacks. In my first week I was sexually harassed multiple times by my co workers. some of them used very trashy language and others in action. For the record they never accomplished in touching me, I was told by my heads that I will get paid not less than a hundred for an hour. 2 months passed without a contract or salary. When I got pissed of and stayed home, they called me and told me to report to work. I did report to work and I said to my head that I will not show up the next day if they don't give me a contract. She kind of announced to the whole office - to quote her exact words - " why would you need money. You are married to a very rich mans son". All I could think at that moment was why would she need money when she is the sister of tourism minister. I never said it. I should have but I didn't. I just want to say now to all those people out there even if I am married to a rich mans son, it doesn't mean that he is responsible to look after me. I want to be independent and make something on my own because I have responsibilities of my own family. I came from a poor family and it doesn't mean that i am nobody.
Anyway, she always made these kinds of comment in the office, she wanted me to write the exact thing which is in dhivehi content. She didn't want to give me the freedom to state too much of facts. She wanted the news to be biased. Well for two months I took it all in only because I wanted a partime job that i had to work only three hours and do what I always loved to do. But after two months I realized that I was on too much pressure because the national broadcasting cooperation of the Maldives was shit and unstable like hell.
The quality of content, let's not even go there. Now imagine me on tv as a news caster reading all the crappy news stories from the auto script. I didn't want to do it. So I called my head and gave her a good lecture and the next day our contracts were ready to sign. But in the contract it said we are getting paid only 22 rufiyaa per hour. In three hours we translated more than three to four stories. Recorded our voice for reports. But all the other journalists get paid to do just one story for the whole day while they get paid around 8 to 10 thousand a month. Oh and there is this one guy whos job is to copy paste international news and he gets paid more than us. It was frustrating to acknowledge that the whole process of getting connected to this media cooperation was giving up my rationality and surrender to be brain washed. so I yelled again that I won't be coming if they dont pay me my salary and this was after a week I signed my contract. It was not even 24 hours of my warning they called me in to collect my check. Seeing my cheque was very demotivating and I thought I am not going to go in. I'll quit.
Next day our third head, head of the head head ... ( they have so many head of departments who actually guides you in three different directions - if one say to just copy paste the press releases other would advice you to rebuild the whole story)... so anyway this head calls and ask me whether I am coming or not. I said to him the truth of what i have experienced and that's where it ended. They still owe me 15 days on money. A lot advised me to file for a court case, but honestly i don't have time for that. why would i express this experience in my blog if i had time for court. court is as corrupted as the national media.

Former Magistrate of Gaaf Dhaal press charges against JSC’s re-appointment criteria for judges

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has denied the allegations made by Ahmed Shareef, a former Senior Magistrate of Gaafu Dhal Thinadhoo court, who accused JSC of removing him from his job “unconstitutionally”, said in the statement presented in the civil court Wednesday by Shareefs lawyer.
According to JSC’s representing lawyer, Ahmed Shareef was removed under Constitutional article 285, which required the JSC to review all sitting judges within the two years of the commencement of new constitution, to determine whether or not the Judges in the office at the time of Constitutional change, possess the qualification of Judges specified in Article 149 of the constitution.
The article 149 states a person appointed as a Judge in accordance with law, must possess the educational qualifications, experience and recognized competence necessary to discharge the duties and responsibilities of a Judge, and must be of high moral character. In addition to the qualifications specified in this article, a Judge must be a Muslim and a follower of a Sunni school of Islam, be twenty-five years of age and should not have been convicted of an offence for which a hadd is prescribed in Islam, criminal breach of trust, or bribery and also be of sound mind.
JSC maintains that former judge Ahmed Shareef was found guilty of criminal misconduct and was sentenced on the 30th july 2001. In his defense shareef’s lawyer Ahmed Zareen Adam said according to the law 13/2010 of the judges act, article 15’s states the judge should not have been sentenced within the last 7 years on any bribery of misconduct, crime or terrorism.
“Although Shareef was sentenced in 2001 it was not within the last 7 years that makes him unqualified for the job” said Zareen
Ahmed Shareef’s lawyer also claims JSC has “intentionally molded the context of constitution on their favor, which states Judges may only be removed from office as specified in Article 154 of the Constitution - that if the Judge is guilty of gross misconduct, JSC has to submits it to the People’s Majlis for a resolution supporting the removal of the Judge, which is passed by a two- thirds majority of the members of the People’s Majlis. But this process not was under taken when JSC selected 31 judges and instead some of the judges selected were people who conducted multiple offenses against the rules and regulations of the constitution.”
Examining the leaked audio files and documents of JSC, which includes discussions on how the judges should be selected, and documents which included 31 judges background records, identified multiple offenses by judges that contained bribery, child abuse, sexual assault, state budget theft and abuse of power. Most of these judges were re-appointed by JSC.
Shareef was discharged of his duties as a magistrate on the 5th of august 2010. The court adjourned the case to provide JSC lawyer 10 more days to present additional evidence and statements related to the case.
The judge’s re-appointments in 2010 was a controversial affair with dissenting members of JSC accusing the Commission of corruption and political maneuvering.

Villagers - That Day

one fine day in this 100 % pretending country

Today, while I and my husband were coming from my husband’s parents, he asks me why is it so important to have gay rights in this country while anyone can just be gay without declaring themselves as gay. I answered saying maybe because they want to be able to dress as women on the road. He gave me a good reply “look at ‘honey’... a gay man walking around in dress like a woman with no shame, he has guts.. Doesn’t he?”
He was right there he was honey for years and years this man walked on streets like a woman wearing a bra underneath when she didn’t have breasts, everyone knew he was guy but then why is Maldives a 100 percent Muslim country?
What defines us as Muslim, is it a piece of cloth, a beard or a t shirt that’s say ‘flower power ‘next to a print of a big joint? Sometimes some people ask these kinds of questions not to be answered by a sheik (according to him who knows it all) sponsored by the government or an NGO for the confused youth sometimes we ask questions because it’s in a nature to ask and also listening to a sheik is not the only way to seek for answers.
A man is a man, not a god! We all know it and it’s in Quran the “mighty big book” which is definitely just words, words produced by us humans. Why Allah or god would have a need to produce a language when it can produce things that we can’t like trees and sun. If we can produce languages does it mean that we are as equal as god? If we need to believe in a god we would know it very simply by thinking that a glass wouldn’t exist if we didn’t produce it? So who created the water?
It doesn’t matter if some call it the big bang, god, the great architect of universe, Allah or baguvaan. We all are pointing at the same thing. Aren’t we? It’s just like you pointing to a chair and calling it ‘gondi’, while an Indian points at the same chair calling it ‘kurusee’. At this point everything that exists or is created by a being (god or human) is acknowledged by us in our own way and within our own perception; even god is a very personal thing. But there are people out there who would rather make us live and be a part of their delusion than us having our own individual belief. Common we pay to live what else you want more?
The idea of collecting zakai through text messages is a bad idea (if a true Muslim). We can’t pretend that we don’t see it, just like the “honey” situation and pretend that we don’t know Dhiraagu, Wataniya or Bank of Maldives is making money out of it? The funniest thing is that Islamic ministry pays people salary to deliver zakai to people? Why? When I can take zakay money out of my pocket and go out there and give it to poor? Who makes these rules “everyone one should give zakai even poor people”, even if they don’t have food to eat by themselves they will have to give zakai. Why is Islamic ministry making poor people feel as if they will rot in hell for not paying that zakai? This is mental abuse and manipulation to make poor feel unworthy even to god.
Islam and most religions are not about individualism and today the world is all about individualism. We don’t care if someone steps to TV and declares that he is a messenger of god and he wants everyone to pay zakai as long as we can go to a restaurant and drink a couple of wine glass with exotic food! Islamic ministry doesn’t allow us to have dogs not because it’s a thing with dog’s hygiene; it is because dogs can smell thieves. How many young boys die today and how many high class business men are stabbed and robbed today. Well these days only praying in a mosque doesn’t help!
If this argument was held in human rights Court, in this country I will lose the case to a person who will only say three words “Allah, Quran, Prophet” and that’s the end of everything. So once again rather being misunderstood by majority we minority pretend and live a lie everyday just to have a simple life in this land which is given to us by universe, god, Allah etc., where government claims that they have the right to decide what is right for us.
Just a couple of years ago Maldivians thought that the rate of sexually and physically abused people are very low, but when things started becoming clearer and when people were given voices this country's sexual and physical abuse reports red flagged in international charts. Who knows when we all are given the chance or voice to stand up, this so called 100 percent Muslim country’s stats will show up 30 percent gay, 30 percent atheists, 30 percent Muslims and rest that don’t know or don’t even care!
i know what group i will be in... i don't care group as long as i have the freedom to do what i want :)
<img been almost a month since i started this 2000 piece of Vincent van Gogh's sunflowers.. i am close very close to finishing it...just 12 more hours!! this is the most difficult one i did after the Da Vinci's 1000 piece Mona Lisa (i don't choose my puzzles.. otherwise i would have picked easier one... especially something will go less with the table color) because the painting contains the same shades of colors, it is very difficult to identify separate parts which makes it more difficult to solve.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" good thing about making jigsaw puzzles is that through the years after working of several ones, it will build your patience and tolerance to any kind of reaction. even if you meet difficult people (social difficult situations to working environments, debates), it would be really easy to understand them and handle them to make them feel at ease.

this is my obsession and i love doing it. this is not a difficult thing to do if your looking for personal development, meditation or mental exhaustion if you cant sleep easily. but beware of the dreams ... you will start seeing the funniest dreams to most uncommonly strange ones. i once saw that i was giving awards on a stage to my puzzle pieces and they came walking up the stairs to collect them. imagine that!! i enjoyed it!! still you will be able to sleep like a baby!
Trying to find the origin of Aameen

Transformation of one single word from ancient history to 21st century - From hieroglyphs to Greek to Hebrew, Arabic and English

Aameen - meaning is Oh Allah! Accept our Duaa (supplication), used by Muslims

Amen - meaning is so be it, is of Hebrew origin used by Christians too in concluding word for prayers and hymns

Amun - Egyptian god
(also spelled Amon, Amoun, Amen, and rarely Imen)

Iman in arabic is refereed to belief of faith

Aemeen is not a word found in Quran according to some scholars... is it true? i tried looking for it but i don't know how to read Arab so i have got lost here.

Aameen is also something i hear very often used in prayers and solavai...

I would be glad if any readers have info on above mentioned... also this post does not mean that I am declaring myself as an "extremist or modernist", this post is about information based on dialects of languages and its transformation through generations and with in religions.

A book is a book not a tree, religion was created by man kind not god, god created life but not that book

Truth about three most powerful books, Quran, Bible and Genesis is that it was generated from the Middle east to Mediterranean and in between a very small period of time during BC to AD. At first non of these books were actually written as books but it was practiced as cults which eventually evolved into religion and then to books. All three books is about one thing and unfortunately it is not about GOD, it is about 'heaven'.

Heaven is an idea of a dreamland based on human pleasure or a house that can fulfill all our dreams and wildest imaginations. In each book, heaven is described by comparing everything that exists in earth. Therefore heaven only becomes 10 times better than the real world according to the books. it is all a constitution of how to live if you want to reach this particular stage as heaven.

Heaven was also referred to cosmos at that time.

If we forget about the religion books for a moment like Lennon did, what is it that we humanity don't have? when we thought to fly we made balloons to aircraft's by our own hands and flew from one country to the other with us in it. Isn't it an idea that is real now or a wish that came true?

human desire technology, fast communication systems, touch pads from the mission impossible movie to all kinds of science fiction reality and in this 21st century we have been very successful in bringing those imaginations to reality.

So once again whats the difference between heaven and the earth?

Is it different because of the amount of time that takes us to build up an aircraft in the earth compared to the time taken to built one in the heaven? yesterday 1 year of traveling is todays 1 hour of traveling and this is how far we have come.

After the lost war of the greatest civilization ever, Alexandra took over Egypt, he translated all of Egypt's knowledge and made a library in the city which he named after him self. he also kept all sorts of knowledge in this particular library and some were collected after conquering different parts of the world before Egypt.

Alexandra's kingdom lead to opening up Egypt as a new visiting city for Greeks and once they moved to Egypt, Greek philosophers began preachings Egyptians and Greeks. But this event created conflict between Egyptians and Greeks. Egyptians believed that what Greeks were teaching and practicing was Egyptian knowledge that they stole after the war. Later revolt began with angry groups forming new cults to bring Greeks down. One of those cults began transforming into Christianity with the influence of Romans because Romans wanted to rule Egypt and its gold. Romans were violent and they were fathers of it when it came to fighting to gladiators. Soon Romans took over Alexandra (of Egypt) and destroyed the library with the help of Cristian's and angry mob.

But when Romans started ruling Egypt they destroyed some of Egyptian art and placed huge sculptures of their rulers around the city during elections, to get support. one of the famous sculptures such as of the Augustus were placed in Alexandria. Romans took great political interest towards Egypt and banned specific religious practices (such known cults as paganism) and slowly hieroglyphic writings and Egyptian culture started disappearing during this time.

And here i am talking about a dispearence of a strong civilization that remain consistent and rigid in their culture and existed for estimated 4000 years.

When Islam (religion) was created with in the cults, they started believing that the sculptures of the roman leaders were evil and they built their belief with hatred to art. (if you have seen the Muhammad ya rasoolah lah you will see them destroying all kinds of sculptures that came from Persian's, roman's and Greek) it was important to spread such ideas because the strong sculptures was like votes to win an election. the point of trying to understand this specific period is get a view of the bigger picture of how these changes has molded our civilizations up till this century. Today western civilizations rule the world because Egypt has been the cradle of western civilization but that necessarily does not mean that western civilization is Egyptian civilization because they both are very different things.

If you look into western civilization's history, you will not find a single proof of an existing mathematician, physician before Alexandria. Because that kind of knowledge came from middle east.Till today most historians believe that the library was destroyed by Islams but truth will only surface when all the archives of the Vatican exposes, which is very unlikely without winning a very violent war!

Ancient Egypt was a civilization that had consistent culture, which had its own origin from art work to mathematics for 4000 years. It is not only the height of pyramids or the size of pyramids that amuses people but the mathematics that was used to build those pyramids and physics they used to built the equipment to built it. Today we pick up European style easily and we speak English as a second language while dollar runs the whole world and we go abroad to get English written PH D's or Masters certificate and this language has become the most prioritized language of the world calling it a universal language, but what everyone forgets is that it came from bible - Again bible is the cradle of English language.

Though we consciously don't recognize it, language plays a huge role in controlling economy and influencing development of an economy and therefore western culture has become imperialists of the world economy.

When it comes to media American movies plays a big role in mixing up history and portraying historical heroes as villains and those influences has lead us to believe in everything with in boundaries that they have built for us. but how long can you hold the rage and anger towards them from other growing and tortured ones such as the new Muslim world and incredible rise of Chinese culture and civilizations. Today we are in conflict because of these reasons and religion defines the major and minority of the worlds population.

What is the difference between religion and war? what is the difference between a Cristian, Hindu or a Muslim. what is the great political leaders after, why do we the simple people or citizens have to keep paying for our own living to the government if life and earth was given to us by god. Are those government leaders, business entrepreneurs, consumers or advertisement agencies our gods today?

what is UN? where do they get the funds from and why does most of it end up in banks of huge advertisement companies who designs the campaign strategy for reducing poverty. Why is Africa so poor when they have rich resources. why is middle east suffering from an endless war? what is Russians hiding and why is British government so faithful to American government?

Now the religion answers saying Africa is poor because they disobeyed the god, middle east is suffering because they disobeyed the god. Now who is god? is it the one who bombed Americas world trade center? where does the hell or heaven stand? Can anyone literally stand on a cloud like god as in the paintings of Leonardo or Raphael? Or do we lack the imagination? was he guided by god too when he drew that war machine for the government?

What is true knowledge? a stolen verse from a book of ancient history or the history it self which standing as monuments around the world? why haven't the western civilization been able to enter china with their philosophy? do we all need such huge walls?

Even if the heaven would be ten times better than the earth, without the religion and war would the earth be ten times better than it is now?

language has always been created by man and with it came books, so how can god create books. God only created natural things and therefor book is not a living organism to fit in the list of things created by god. how does a god become a book... now you answer me!<div border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463953673698410802" />
Weeks ago, me and my friend argued about why women wear heels to why men likes and dislikes to give people rides on their motor bikes. Soon the argument changed to a discussion where we both ended up asking and analyzing all our couple friends and single friends. So here are some scenarios that helped us understand how and what goes through women and men’s mind when it comes to killer heels and bikes.

Scenario 1

Wife no 1: I work all day, and I earn most of the money that is spent on both of us. So I like wearing killer heels because it makes me look good, and I like to look good. I ask my husband to drop me everywhere and to pick me up from everywhere simply because I spent on his patrol and it hurts like hell to walk on male’ pavements wearing killer heels.

Husband 1: well typically I can’t go to a job in the day time and earn money because I have to drop my wife here and there every now and then. She’s an accountant and she has to go to banks and all sorts of places every single day, so for a single day I take about 6 rounds from home to her office and from office to where she wants to go.

Scenario 2

Husband 2: my wife doesn’t wear heels and she likes to walk, but she calls like twice a day to pick her up from office. She knows I don’t really like to ride around that much. Everyday an office mate calls me to pick him up from home and drop him to office from lunch because it’s annoyingly hot at that time and I don’t like the sun too much either, and going to pick my wife, drop her home and then again for a meeting is a lot of rides for a day. Now when she gets home usually she is pissed off because I didn’t give her a ride… now that’s too much… she is very insecure and feels jealous easily if she sees a woman friend in my bike and also she hates all my male friends and doesn’t like the fact that I hang around with him… I know this because she always yells at me… ‘Who did you give a ride to and why did you give a ride to him or her’ as if I was cheating on her with someone… but how could I say no after all we work in the same place and she could always get a cab and be an understanding wife.

Wife no 2: well if that’s what he says I think the next time he calls me in the office and tells me ‘darling the house is a bit untidy could you please clean up today’ or ‘darling could you please wash this for me’ I’ll say no I can’t, cause I am so tired of washing and cleaning the houses of my colleagues … and that it is so tiring in the end of every day and how can I say no, we all work in the same office. Also ill tell him why don’t you clean the house and wash your own cloths too for the week and I won’t ask you to give me a ride. After that I am sure he is going to yell at me saying ‘who is this colleague and why do you have to clean her house?’ and ill say ‘just for the same reason you had to give your friend a ride and not me’!!! ON HIS FACE!! Then he will talk about me getting emotional where I am just trying to be rational and remind him of the responsibilities we share and to be only fair!!

Scenario 3:

Single Girl – 1: It is really hard to walk on the pavements here with killer heals and at the same time I work in customer relations and I have to look neat and heels give me good posture. I like to look sexy and good all the time when I am in the office because you never know one day the customer I front of you could be your future husband? Also being single makes it easier to get rides from friends rather than spending all your income on taxi drives. I have 10 to 12 male friends who I ask for rides and sometimes a single person for a week and…hmmm rarely a month, otherwise I just shuffle around and choose to go with the person who takes me out in the night most. Sometimes they don’t even show up and what I do is just end our friendship.

Ride boys: she is a nice friend and she talks to me on the phone when I am bored or feeling lonely… you know… and sometimes it’s just a good feeling to have a sexy girl sitting behind me on my bike when riding around. I really wish to bang her up sometimes but it’s just that she doesn’t give me a chance… but… you know we tickle each other once in a while.

Future husband: I don’t know what she was before meeting me but every now and then these strange calls from strange men… URRRG… and it’s coming all the time. The funny thing she never seems to know anyone of the guys… I have told her now to tell everyone that you’re in a relationship with me and not to call her. I asked a friend of her about what was going on and she said all these calls were coming from people who use to give her rides to office and she also said that they might be calling to see why she has not called for a ride for two months now. Can you imagine???

Scenario 4:

Single Girl - 2: uummm… I like walking and it’s not a big deal for me because I have been walking to office for years.

Single Girl - 1: well she is not that popular and not very attractive so it’s really difficult for her to get rides like I do and also she prefers to walk in heels though. Also if she walks 15 days a month the remaining would be spent of taxis.

So after all these conversations with all our friends we realized that each story is different and we bought couple of nice fitting walking flippers which is most convenient for this weather and the pavements.

Deceiving in day light

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_CaUSJXBN3XQ/S8_zDBrQOKI/AAAAAAAAAEk/XcGBgH_aV6U/s400/IMG_0587.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462852106338711714" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_CaUSJXBN3XQ/S8_xLTSFkzI/AAAAAAAAAEc/IUKezrnWJnE/s400/IMG_0586.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462850049480692530" />

At first it was just a couple of sand bags and a little hole dug in between, but then slowly a couple of tractor sort of vehicles, cement mixtures and more sand bags to a big huge fence over an year.
